What is “¡Tú Cuentas!” Cine Youth Festival?
The “¡Tú Cuentas!” Film Festival is an exclusively online film festival aimed at encouraging Latinx youth participation. ¡Tú Cuentas! is designed to elevate the voices of Latinos in film by creating new pathways for their stories to be heard. While all ages are encouraged to submit, the ¡Tú Cuentas! Film Festival is placing a specific focus on youth, ages 16 – 24, reflecting the best our diverse Latinx communities have to offer.

$10-$15 per entry for student submissions
$20-$25 per entry for regular submissions

Is There a Theme for Entries?
The theme is Past Meets Present and Moves Forward. This broad theme embraces a wide range of film genres that showcase the talents, vision, history, culture, and hopes of our communities emphasizing, in every way possible, the simple fact that all count – ¡Tú Cuentas!
¡Tú Cuentas! includes three events:
- a one-day Latinx Filmmakers Conference will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020, from 8am – 4pm at St. Francis College, 180 Remsen St., Brooklyn, NY
- a reception and one-day screening in a Miami-based theater
- the month-long online Film Festival
Do I Have to Be Latino/a to Enter?
No. Submissions by Latinx populations are encouraged, but submissions will be accepted as long as they have a Latino in a lead creative position (director, actor, producer, etc.) and reflect the overall theme of Past Meets Present and Moves Forward.
Is There an Award?
A cash prize of $3000.00 will be awarded to the film judged as outstanding overall. A special student scholarship of $2000.00 will be awarded to the outstanding work submitted by a student. You must decide what category to submit in at the time of submission. No one person can win both prizes.
